Dmitry hoped to organise the next charity concert in his hometown of Krasnoyarsk, but on November 22, 2017 Dmitry sadly left us.
Florence Hvorostovskaya and Dmitry’s friends could not leave the noble work begun by Dmitry unfinished. Today, within the framework of a large project “Dmitry Hvorostovsky and Friends for Children”, two foundations have begun their work: the Dmitry Hvorostovsky Charity Foundation and the Dmitry Hvorostovsky Foundation for the Support of Arts.
The Dmitry Hvorostovsky Foundation for the Support of Arts’ objectives are the organisation of creative competitions, educational programs, support of young talented artists and to help spread the popularity of high art.
We are striving to create a large center that will allow all friends, performers and creators who share the ideas of serving the society, transfer knowledge to new generations and support and develop young talented artists and performers.
The charity foundation named after Dmitry Hvorostovsky is called upon to help the children in urgent need of treatment. To attract public attention and raise the necessary funds, the Foundation will organise concerts of Dmitry’s friends, those artists who personally knew Dmitry and those who share the idea of uniting for the sake of helping children.
The first concert without Dmitry and in memory of him will be held on August 26 in Krasnoyarsk.
“Friends, we are together for the sake of children” – this is the motto of the project “Dmitry Hvorostovsky and friends for children. We are together for the sake of children – this is the principle that unites all the friends of our big project.
